The second rule is that the new version, if you make one, you really need a reason beyond, but "Maybe there's still money in it." There are other reasons behind the obvious "The Thing," the another "movie 80 More from this week.
While the creature feature classic "Thing" third treatment in a film that was so fascinated with the current "thing" is to forget that to be scary or suspenseful. The cast is decent and the establishment of clean glacier is wasted in the movie Aliens, and foreign transmutation surgery without urgency, or feeling that is too cold in Antarctica.
In fact, the film has not been promoted as a reconstruction, but as a prequel to "The Man of La Thing" (1982) - ". The Thing (another world) "itself is a remake of the 1951, but in reality - in style and content - just set the image of the Carpenter.
But it is maddening static image - strolling players as they walked, in general, do not convey the fear and increase speed. It is a sin against the directive. Empathy for the characters do not develop.
Forget the obvious shadow, the "logic" of a station is full of flame throwers and grenades. Try to forget the version, earlier than ever. This "Thing" still does not give more of a toss or launch strangers praised, instead of "cooling effect".
That does not mean it is impossible to see. In his interesting widescreen compositions, stoic masculinity and economic arguments, Carpenter is not a bad filmmakers to emulate, when a stick close to the formula, Heijningen of this movie is really reliable.
But why settle for a copy when the original is better? As a foreign star, the new "Thing" slavishly imitate the victim - but not too copy the spark of life.
Ratings note: The film contains strong language and graphic violence.
