Warner Bros. Sets Release Dates for Lego Movie, Jackie Robinson Biopic '42'

Warner Bros. has constructed a release date for its 3D Lego movie. At the same time, it has penciled in a date for 42, the Jackie Robinson biopic being made with Legendary Pictures.

The studio has set a Feb. 28, 2014 for the film, which currently is in production and being done in CGI. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directing team behind the live-action hit 21 Jump Street, is helming the movie from their screenplay. (The duo will share story credit with Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman.) Dan Lin and Roy Lee are producing.

At this stage, no other movie is set to open on the date.

42, being directed by Brian Helgeland, will open April 12, 2013, just in time for the 66^th anniversary of Jackie Robinson Day, which is held April 15, the date of his first game as a Brooklyn Dodger.

Chadwich Boseman is portraying Robinson while Harrison Ford is playing Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey.

42 is set to start production on May 14 in Birmingham, Ala. It will also shoot in Macon and Atlanta, Ga., as well as Chattanooga, Tenn. The citys Engel Stadium will double for Brooklyns Ebbets Field.

The April 12 date pits the movie against Tri-Stars Evil Dead remake.
