Conservative activist Andrew Breitbart, an influential voice in Republican circles known for his online media attacks on liberals, died unexpectedly of natural causes in los angeles early on Thursday, his family said. He was 43.

Andrew Breitbart didn’t invent the new media universe. it was already safely in place when he emerged as a potent force within the conservative blogosphere several years ago. but no one exploited the immediacy and subversive force of new media like Breitbart, who died Thursday of a noticeable heart attack at age forty three.

Breitbart was a revolutionary wanting to overthrow a media institution that he viewed as a front for left-wing social causes. continually brimming with righteous indignation — before he died, his final tweet offered an evidence for why he’d known as an adversary a “putz” — he had contempt for something that smacked of liberal do-gooderism or hypocrisy.

"He collapsed on the sidewalk and the paramedics were there very quickly and they couldn't revive him," Bean told Reuters in a very phone interview.

A friend of Breitbart told Reuters he had a history of heart issues and is believed to possess suffered a heart attack.
