Frankenweenieis a black and white stop-motion feature about a boy named Victor Frankenstein and his ambitious attempt to bring his dog, Sparky, back to life using science. Paying homage to the 1931 classic Frankenstein, it's the first film shot in black and white for IMAX and rendered in 3D.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Karen O said Burton's directive for the track was to come up with "an unconventional, unconditional love song." Her inspiration came by way of "the same era of B movie fright film references sprinkled throughout the film."

Burton's own musical history played a role, too. Says O: "Iwent in the direction of exotica and calypso stylistically because it's quirky, good vibes music of that era and when you throw in a theramin solo it's a marriage made in heaven. I rememberBeetlejuice introducing me to the genius of Harry Belafonte's calypso record so I wanted to give a nod to that, too."
