Toronto 2012: Festival Unveils Plans for Inaugural Asian Film Summit

KARLOVY VARY, Czech Republic -- Jackie Chan will headline an inaugural Toronto Asian Film Summit at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.
The Hong Kong star will be joined by MPAA chairman and CEO Chris Dodd as headliners at the Sept. 10 networking event for the Asian and western film industries, to be held at the Shangri-La Hotel.

As both a key launch pad for films in North America and home to huge audiences for Asian cinema, we think Toronto can be a prime meeting place for the Asian and western film industries, TIFF artistic director Cameron Bailey said in annoucing the upcoming Asian film summit.
Other summit guests will be announced in the coming weeks as Toronto continues to establish ties with the Asian film industry, especially Bollywood and China.
Passes to the Toronto Asian Film Summit go on sale July 20.
The Toronto International Film Festival is set to run Sept. 6-16.
