Quentin Tarantino Will Be Honored at MoMA's Fifth Annual Film Benefit
>> Friday, July 27, 2012
Quentin Tarantino is the honoree this year at the Museum of Modern Art's fifth annual film benefit in New York City.
The event will take place Dec. 3 with a gala dinner and special presentation honoring the director's work. His latest film, Django Unchained, hits theaters Dec. 25 with Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kerry Washington in starring roles.
"As a celebrated auteur director, Tarantino has leveraged his deep knowledge of cinema history to engage, entertain, and inform a new generation of movie fans. Honoring him is a small way to pay homage to the important service he has done to propel and promote the art form," said Rajendra Roy, The Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film at MoMA, in a statement Friday.
Tarantino, a best original screenplay Oscar winner for Pulp Fiction, has helmed such films as Inglourious Basterds, Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown and the Kill Bill movies.
