Cate Edwards Leaves John Edwards Trial in Tears

John Edwards' daughter left the courtroom crying throughout testimony on Wednesday a couple of confrontation between her father and deceased mother over the onetime presidential candidate's extramarital affair.

Former Edwards aide Christina Reynolds was testifying concerning an argument Elizabeth Edwards had with her husband on the day in October 2007 that a tabloid printed a story concerning his affair. As Reynolds was starting the account concerning what happened at the Raleigh airport, Edwards turned to his daughter Cate, who was seated within the front row.

"I do not know what's coming; do you wish to leave?" Edwards was heard asking.

She walked out of the courtroom, crying, as a witness began to describe an argument between her folks when a tabloid reported her dad's affair.

The former U.S. Senator faces charges of illegally using campaign contributions to cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter whereas running for president.

Former Edwards aide Christina Reynolds testified concerning the day in 2007 when John and Elizabeth Edwards learned of the National Enquirer's report.

They were at the airport, and "Elizabeth was terribly upset... She was terribly vocal," Reynolds said. "She stormed off and collapsed into a ball within the automobile parking space."

After aides helped Elizabeth Edwards go back to to her feet and led her to a close-by restroom, "She appeared to a small degree calmer," said Reynolds, "then stormed out of the toilet and tried to interact Mr. Edwards."

In an emotional outburst, Elizabeth reportedly told her husband, "You don't see me any longer," and tore off her shirt and bra on the spot.

John Edwards "didn't have much of a reaction."

Elizabeth Edwards died in 2010 at age 61 when a protracted battle with breast cancer. Shortly before she passed, she left John, though they never divorced.

John denied, adamantly, that he had an affair with Hunter, though he was later forced to admit it ... further as the undeniable fact that he fathered her love kid.

This was all too much for their daughter to require yesterday. when a short recess, Cate Edwards, 30, a lawyer, returned to the courtroom.

John Edwards, 58, faces up to 30 years in prison and up to $1.5 million in fines if convicted of the charges, which he adamantly denies.

He admits myriad personal shortcomings, however denies diverting nearly a million bucks in campaign funds illegally for the Hunter cover-up.
