Clark Gregg Writing and Directing 'Trust Me,' a Dark Comedy About Child Stars

Clark Greggis writing, directing and starring in Trust Me, a dark comedy about the world of child stars, that Unified Pictures, Savage Bunny and Bron Studios have partnered to produce.
Gregg will set aside his Avengers persona of Agent Phil Coulson to play a former child star who has become a loser agent of young actors when he stumbles across a child prodigy, played by newcomer Saxon Sharbino. He heads an ensemble cast that includes Amanda Peet, Paul Sparks, Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Molly Shannon, Niecy Nash and Sam Rockwell.

Principal photography began Sept. 26 in Los Angeles on the project, which is being produced by Mary Vernieu and Gregg under their new Savage Bunny banner, along with Aaron L. Gilbert of Bron Studios and Keith Kjarval of Unified Pictures, with Margot Hand as co-producer and Rockwell as executive producer.
Kjarval and Gilbert recently teamed on A Single Shot, a thriller starring Rockwell, Jeffrey Wright, Melissa Leo, Jason Isaacs and Macy that is in postproduction.

Gregg, repped by UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment, wrote and directed Choke, which received a Special Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Fox Searchlight.
UTA Independent Film Group is representing domestic rights on Trust Me, with Radiant Films Internationals Mimi Steinbauer handling foreign sales.
