Courteney Cox, David Arquette File for Divorce Concurrently

On Friday, David Arquette filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years, Courteney Cox Arquette and at the same time, she filed against him.

Setting the date of their separation at Dec. 31, 2011, Cox Arquette submitted paperwork to Superior Court of California for a dissolution of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The documents were published Wednesday by TMZ.

Both parties are representing themselves, and Cox Arquette is asking for joint physical and legal custody of their daughter, Coco Riley Arquette, who turned 8 on Wednesday. She is not asking for spousal or child support and did not mention any division of property in the documents. She is also seeking to restore her name to Courteney Cox.

Arquette and Cox met when both were co-starring in 1995's Scream and then got married June 12, 1999. They announced their separation in October 2010.

The couple also appeared in the horror franchise's three sequels together and launched a production company, Coquette Productions, whose credits include the TV series Cougar Town and Dirt, both starring Cox.

Arquette recently guest-starred onCougar Town, which is making the move from ABC to TBS for its upcoming fourth season.
